Good news from the highest levels

The Istrian winery Damjanić in the Poreč area received a gold medal and Regional Trophy Winner title at the prestigious International Wine Challenge for their 2016 Malvazija. Damjanić’s white cuvee Clemente, composed of Malvazija, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, also received a gold medal and 95 points.

Such results by the Damjanić winery, which owns seven hectares of vineyards planted with an array of local and international varieties, have made it the absolute Croatian champion of this year’s IWC. Certain Croatian wine critics have for years noted the specific character and high quality of Damjanić wines, something now confirmed at the highest international level. Next week the Croatian wine industry can expect lots of very good news from the Decanter World Awards.
